Welcome to the ISIMA / LIMOS technical services documentation. This guide provides essential information for IT staff, researchers, and students using the ISIMA and LIMOS infrastructures.

Access to Services✯

VPN Access✯

To access ISIMA/LIMOS services remotely, you must first connect to the VPN (Virtual Private Network).

  1. Download and install the OpenVPN client.
  2. Configure the VPN using the provided configuration file (isima-limos-vpn.ovpn).
  3. Authenticate using your Kerberos credentials or MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication).

Important

A VPN connection is mandatory for accessing internal services such as GitLab, Moodle, Zimbra, or Open-Xchange.

SSH Access✯

Once connected to the VPN, you can access ISIMA/LIMOS servers via SSH.

ssh username@isima-limos.univ-bpclermont.fr

Note

Replace username with your ISIMA/LIMOS account username.

Remote Desktop (RDP)✯

For graphical interfaces, use RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) to connect to Windows workstations.

xfreerdp /v:rdp.isima-limos.univ-bpclermont.fr /u:username /p:password

  • Eduroam: Wireless network access for students and staff.

Authentication✯

Single Sign-On (SSO)✯

ISIMA/LIMOS services use Single Sign-On (SSO) with UCA (Université Clermont Auvergne) credentials.

Info

Your UCA credentials are the same as those used for INP (Institut National Polytechnique) services.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)✯

For enhanced security, MFA is required for VPN and sensitive services.

Warning

Ensure your MFA method is up-to-date to avoid access issues.

Critical

  • HAL: Archive your research publications in HAL UCA.
  • Storage: Follow data retention policies for backups.
